Barbara I. Rohman

Barbara I. Rohman, age 89, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Heritage Health in Chillicothe.

Barb was born on October 28, 1932 in Griggssville, IL to Roscoe and Jeanette (Smith) Lytle.  She married Thomas E. Rohman, Sr., on June 11, 1953 in Peoria.  He preceded her in death on June 21, 2020.  Also preceding her in death are her parents; her sister, Joyce Gardner; and three grandchildren, Zach, Meagan and Ashley.

Surviving are her children, DeDe (Bob) Lindquist of Overland Park, KS, Nancy (Glenn) Grose of Chillicothe, IL, Thomas (Laura) Rohman, Jr., of Chillicothe, IL, John (Patty) Rohman of Chillicothe, IL, Susan (Curt) Grant of Shelbyville, IL and Mary Ann (Pat) Auge of Chillicothe, IL; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Barb graduated from Chillicothe High School and then from Methodist School of Nursing.  She was a registered nurse for Methodist Hospital and then for Drs. Johnson and Hart in Chillicothe.  Barb was an active member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe, where she was involved in the Mother’s Club, Grief Support and the Prayer Line.  Barb enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook.  She also loved spending time with her family and once the grandchildren came along, they were her world.  She loved being an active grandparent in the lives of her grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 11am at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe.  Fr. Matthew Deptula will be officiating.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with recitation of the Rosary at 4:30pm.  Burial will immediately follow Mass on Friday at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Memorials in Barbara’s name may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church.
