Art Huckins

Art Huckins, 64, of Chillicothe passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016. He was born in June 1951, in Peoria, the son of Glen and Irene Huckins.

Art is survived by his wife Anita of Chillicothe; three daughters, Stephanie, Leah, Heather; One son, Shane; Three grandsons and Aunt Dorothy and Cousin Cathy. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Art wanted to leave a message for everyone: "I lived my entire life in Chillicothe. I felt safe and my friends made my life happy. I like helping people so when asked I always say yes." (Art did not know a stranger and spoke to everyone and repeated the same jokes for years.) "I feel sorry for homeless animals, please ask people to donate to the Ark Shelter so some pets will have a warm place to stay and be loved again. Chase, Mitch, and Harry, I will be with you hoping for your home runs of life. Love, G-Pa"

A private grave side service will be held on Monday, Jan. 11, at the Chillicothe City Cemetery for family and close friends. Memorials may be made to Ark Animal Shelter in Lacon, IL.
