Anita Huckins

Anita Helen Huckins, age 76, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Cornerstone Healthcare in Peoria Heights.

Anita was born on June 23, 1945 in Keeneyville, IL to Leroy and Alice (Kostecki) Hueckstaedt.  She married Willard “Art” Huckins on June 13, 1998 in Las Vegas, NV.  He preceded her in death in January of 2016.  Also preceding her in death are her parents.

Surviving are his daughters, Leah (Rob) Santini of Chillicothe and Heather (Charles) Wahlstrom of Peoria; her grandchildren, Chase and Mitch Santini and Harold Wahlstrom; her sister, Dawn Mocko and two brothers, Raymond and Chuck Hueckstaedt.

Anita was a respiratory therapist and worked for OSF St. Francis Medical Center for over 20 years when she retired.  She was quite the artist and enjoyed painting and drawing.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 10:30am at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Memorials in Anita’s name may be made to The ARK in Lacon.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
