Alveretta Thornhill

Alveretta E. Thornhill, age 102, of Chillicothe, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Heritage Health in Chillicothe.

Alveretta was born on December 15, 1918 in Kewanee, IL to Floyd and Marie (Logdson) Bauders.  She had been married Arthur Pearson and later to George Thornhill.

Surviving are her children, Judy Kelley of Rome, IL and Steven (Soon) Pearson of Toulon, IL; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.

Alveretta had been a homemaker and later worked for Pinkertons Security Services at the Peoria Airport.  She was also the Sunday School Administrator for Messiah Lutheran Church in Galva.  Alveretta was a student of Bob Ross and enjoyed playing the piano.  In her younger years, she enjoyed her social life of playing cards, dancing at The Hub, etc.

Cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services at this time.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
