Alma Louise Placher, 95, of Chillicothe, died Friday, January 19, 2018 at Heritage Health Manor in Chillicothe. Born on October 24, 1922 in Sparland to C. Tobias and Alma L. (Walker) Nighswonger. She married Lester Placher in Palmyra, MO. on September 26, 1942. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2007. She is also preceded by her parents, four brothers and a sister. Surviving is a daughter, Carol (Drew) Sieben of Fort Dodge, IA and two sons, Tim (Cheryl) Placher of Lacon and Rick (Jo) Placher of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Louise was a beautician for 30 years and also a real estate agent for a number of years. She was a member of the Edelstein Congregational Church and attended the Plymouth Congregational Church in Chillicothe. Funeral service for Louise will be held at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11:00 am. Ernie Russell will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Blue Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Nighswonger Cemetery Fund.
