Kathleen Millar

Kathleen J. Millar, age 63, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Kathy was born on November 3, 1958 in Torrance, California to Ralph and Connie (Garcia) Gastelum. She was raised in La Mirada, California. La Mirada will forever be her home.

Surviving are her children, Evan (Kristyn) Millar of London, United Kingdom, Tyler (Courtney) Millar of Chillicothe, her grandchildren, Cash, Daisy, Kyra, Holliday and June Millar; and her brother, Ron Gastelum of Long Beach, CA.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lorraine Convertino. She was the baby of the family.

Growing up in La Mirada, Kathy enjoyed her beautiful home off of Olive Branch Dr. She loved to ride her horses. Kathy also had a candy apple red 65 Mustang. She was the cool kid in town.

Most Importantly, Kathy was a great mother:  her boys were her world- she was there world- she would put them before everything- she always made they were spoiled with everything from the coolest shoes to the best school clothes.

Kathy put up with two wild boys. She watched those boys mature and start great careers. She was able to watch them get married to two amazing women she considered her own, She was able to see all of her grand babies come into this world, hold them, and love on them. They will all remember “Mia”.

Kathy had a great career. It inspired her oldest son Evan to go into sales. She was the reason for his success and gave him his start in sales. Kathy worked for over 30 years in sales and marketing for  various hospitality companies. She was a natural salesperson, and her intellectual skills were unrivaled.

She loved spending time with her friends and family, and anyone who knew her knows what a caring person she was. So many people were touched by Kathy. She was a second Mom to so many People, Kara, and a ton of Evan and Tyler’s friends.

Kathy Jean Millar finished her Mission. Mission Complete!

Cremation rites will be accorded, and private family services will take place at home in California. A Celebration Memorial will be held in February in California.  It’s going to be a proper party as she always wanted.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
