Helen Munk

Helen Roberta (Sternes) Munk, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, at Heritage Center.

Helen was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 10, 1930. She worked as a nurse for many years and was a faithful member of the Newburgh United Methodist Church. Helen was a woman of deep faith. She devoted much of her time participating in church activities. She also enjoyed painting ceramics. Above all else, Helen loved her family. She was an especially wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother.

Helen is survived by her sons, Doug Munk (Joyce) of Texarkana, TX and Bruce Munk (Janet) of Peoria, IL; grandchildren, Andrew Munk (Lori), Amanda Jorgensen (Roy), Ian Munk, and Robyn Munk; and great-grandchildren, Skyler Duggins, Camille Munk, Christian Munk and Maggie Munk.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Munk in 2000; by her mother, Velva (Higginbotham) Sternes; son, Dennis Munk; sisters, Donna and Nancy; and brothers, Clifford, Kenneth and Ed.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 2pm at the Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Granted, 4445 Commerce St., Evansville, IN 47710.  Arrangements are under the care of Browning Funeral Home in Indiana and Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
