Fredrick W. Lauber, age 64, of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
Fred was born on May 10, 1956 in Peoria, IL to Francis F. and Marie (Hawley) Lauber. He married Sylvia M. Ordaz on May 4, 2007 in Chillicothe, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia; his mother, Marie Lauber; his children, Raquel (Corey) Herron of Dunlap, IL, Fredrick "Bryce" (Lindsey) Lauber of Sparland, IL, Amber (Zack) Mulally of Chesapeake, VA and Dirk (Skyler) Lauber of Aumsville, OR; 12 grandchildren; his siblings, Cyndy (Dave) Snyder of WI, Michael (Dorothy) Lauber of FL, Brian (Kim) Lauber of CO, Dawn Davis of IL and David (Judy) Lauber of IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
Fred worked for Caterpillar until he retired in 2016 and he started Lauber Tree Service in 1996 that he passed on to his son, Bryce. Fred accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was passionate about his relationship with Him and sharing that passion with others. He enjoyed gardening and beekeeping, cooking, baking, and riding his motorcycle, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 1pm at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
