Catering and Receptions
Reception and catering services are offered by both Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe and Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home in Peoria. Our two locations can house several dining and reception options for assorted group sizes and gatherings. We can also assist with catering at any venue in the Peoria or Chillicothe area. Whether you desire an intimate reception or a large catered meal, we understand that the simplest touches such as a familiar menu item, can provide comfort and solace during a very difficult time.
Catering
Because we understand the importance of gatherings following the Celebration of Life, we are now offering the convenience of catered luncheons and receptions for our families, giving friends and family an opportunity to laugh, to cry, and to begin the healing process together.
Whether you would prefer light lunch for your immediate family, or a
full buffet for family and friends, our funeral home can accommodate you
with the following options:
Many families feel they cannot leave once visitation has started. Our wake platters offer a variety of choices and allow your family to remain together and eat at their leisure.
Church or other Location CateringMany Churches in our area provide full funeral lunches, others may only provide the facilities and you bring the food. We will work with any caterer to assist the church volunteers with any food services and cleanup needed. We will be happy to reserve and secure your luncheon with the church as well.
In-home CateringMany families wish to offer a reception in their home, but do not wish to cook, serve and cleanup. We offer a hostess who can attend to your home as a security measure before the funeral, and our caterer arrives while you are attending the service and will have the food ready when you arrive, as well as stays for cleanup.
Outdoor PicnicsDuring nice weather, many families choose to serve their funeral luncheons out of doors. We offer a variety of catering services that may include tents, chairs & tables or if you prefer we can arrange for a pavilion rental at a local park.
